They spoke with Tobin Low and Kathy Tu, who are the Hosts of the WNYC Podcast, Nancy. Michael Bronski was active in Boston and ran something called Gay Sunshine Press, which published a lot of material in the 1970s. Perry Brass and Karla Jay were active members in a group called Gay Liberation Front, which was a big activism group in New York at the time, and also published magazines like Come Out and Rat and many more. Love and Resistance explores a few themes and one of them is the rise of the Queer Press in the 1960s and '70s, and so to talk about that we invited some of the members who were active in that scene at the time to share their stories.

Over the next month we'll also be sharing some episodes on the podcast that commemorate that anniversary, starting with today's. Schwarzman Building in Midtown and it's free, so you should come see it, it's up through July. To commemorate that anniversary the Library has an exhibition up this year called Love and Resistance, Stonewall 50. So you probably know that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in 1969, which is considered one of the inciting events of the Gay Rights Movement.
